About Kelly

Prior to joining Guha PLLC, Kelly was a law clerk for Justice Robert R. Reed of the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division of New York County. During her clerkship, she assisted the Justice on a broad range of matters involving high-level disputes. She assisted on matters related to breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, fraud, business torts, anti-SLAPP statutes, and international tax law, amongst others.

Kelly also spent approximately three years defending indigent New Yorkers, gaining invaluable courtroom experience in fast-paced, varied litigation. She managed an extensive docket, providing attentive and insightful counsel to promote clients’ goals while appearing in court nearly every day. She worked collaboratively in teams to ensure coordination of strategy, attending to clients’ legal objectives and concerns about the attendant consequences thereof.

In law school, Kelly litigated Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Convention against Torture claims on behalf of a detained Salvadoran client facing persecution in his home country. Through extensive evidence gathering and persuasive legal writing, she helped to convince DHS to settle the matter, thereby permitting her client to safely reside in the United States with his family. She also accumulated hundreds of pro bono hours while leading a student organization. Kelly was also sponsored to speak at a UNESCO conference in Jerusalem, offering insight on the nexus between criminal and child welfare proceedings.
